Cette composition trouve ses racines dans un graff réalisé en 2023 dans un garage abandonné en Vendée — un lieu que j’avais déjà marqué, 35 ans plus tôt, d’un hommage peint sur sa façade en mémoire d’un ami disparu, Ludwig.

En 2023, j’ai investi une pièce close de ce même bâtiment, recouverte d’une vieille tapisserie défraîchie, pour y créer une nouvelle œuvre à partir de fonds de peinture et de bombes aérosol. Frappé par l’équilibre de cette composition éphémère, j’en ai extrait l’esprit visuel — sans en reprendre les lettres ni les motifs — pour en proposer une réinterprétation abstraite.

Ludwig Von 90 est ainsi une superposition de temps : un dialogue entre le geste originel de 1988, la création spontanée de 2023, et cette ultime transcription en atelier. L’œuvre finalise ce cycle en capturant l’énergie de ces strates mémorielles.

This composition has its roots in graffiti created in 2023 in an abandoned garage in Vendée — a place I had already marked 35 years earlier with a painted tribute on its façade in memory of a departed friend, Ludwig.
In 2023, I took over a closed room in the same building, covered with old, faded wallpaper, to create a new work using paint and spray cans. Struck by the balance of this ephemeral composition, I extracted its visual spirit — without repeating the letters or motifs — to offer an abstract reinterpretation.
Ludwig Von 90 is a superimposition of time: a dialogue between the original gesture of 1988, the spontaneous creation of 2023, and this final transcription in the studio. The work completes this cycle by capturing the energy of these layers of memory.
