Librement inspirรฉ dโune peinture rรฉalisรฉe en 2024 avec l’artiste @cannibal_letters sur les panneaux de bois qui condamnent dรฉsormais lโancien hรดtel Arvor ร Rennes. Improvisรฉ avec un fond de peinture bordeaux cassรฉe, du noir et un fond de jaune et dโorange pรขle, contours ร lโaรฉrosol.
Je reprends les bases de ce qui รฉtait un lettrage pour en crรฉer une forme abstraite qui peut dรฉsormais vivre dโelle mรชme, juste pour le plaisir de la contrainte chromatique.
Freely inspired by a painting created in 2024 with @cannibal_letters on the wooden panels that now condemn the former Arvor hotel in Rennes. Improvised with a background of burgundy paint broken up with black and a yellow background, outlines in spray paint.
I take the basics of what was once lettering and use them to create an abstract form that can now stand on its own, just for the pleasure of chromatic constraint.

Ce terme sโest imposรฉ ร moi lors de ma rรฉsidence chez lโartiste Yann Le Berre, ร Pont-Aven, plus connu sous le nom de lโOutsider. รbรฉniste de formation, il mโa aidรฉ ร construire certaines de ces caisses amรฉricaines pour finaliser mes travaux dโatelier.
Ces caisses, en ajoutant une structure physique, dรฉlimitent lโลuvre et en fixent les contours.
ร lโinverse, mon travail dans les friches industrielles, la rue ou les espaces abandonnรฉs refuse toute limite prรฉรฉtablie. Il sโinspire de tout ce qui entoure le support โ murs รฉcaillรฉs, objets oubliรฉs, matiรจres en dรฉcomposition โ et intรจgre ce hors-cadre comme partie prenante de la crรฉation.
Les ลuvres prรฉsentรฉes lors de cette exposition questionnent cette tension entre neutralitรฉ du white cube et contextualitรฉ de la crรฉation in situ et proposent de jouer de ces liens qui tissent ma pratique depuis quelques annรฉes.

Framework (Borrowed from English: framework structure, creation protocol)
This term came to me during my residency with artist Yann Le Berre, in Pont-Aven, better known as the Outsider. A trained cabinetmaker, he helped me build some of these American crates to finalise my studio work.
These crates, by adding a physical structure, delimit the work and define its contours.
Conversely, my work in industrial wastelands, streets or abandoned spaces rejects any pre-established limits. It draws inspiration from everything that surrounds the medium โ peeling walls, forgotten objects, decomposing materials โ and integrates this outside framework as an integral part of the creation.
The works presented here question this tension between the neutrality of the white cube and the contextuality of in situ creation, and propose to play on the links that have woven my practice together over the last few years.
Commande rรฉalisรฉe pour la ville de Fougรจres, la peinture รฉvoque la passรฉ industriel du site, qui a vu se succรฉder au siรจcle dernier les cristallerie Fougeraise puis des atelier de confection de chaussures. Il est dรฉsormais reconvertit en pole associatif.
Commissioned by the city of Fougรจres, the painting evokes the site’s industrial past, which saw the Fougeraise crystal factory followed by shoe manufacturing workshops in the last century. It has now been converted into a community centre.

Les terre-neuvas sont les pรชcheurs qui, du xvie siรจcle au xxe siรจcle, partaient chaque annรฉe des cรดtes europรฉennes pour pรชcher la morue sur les grands Bancs de Terre-Neuve, au large du Canada. Cette pรชche a pris fin ร cause de la rarรฉfaction du poisson ร la fin du xxe siรจcle due ร la surpรชche.
Cette peinture, rรฉalisรฉe au dos du musรฉe des terres-neuvas de Saint-Malo, ร l’occasion de la cinquiรจme biennale d’art urbain ร Saint-Malo, รฉvoque cette pรชche qui fรปt longtemps l’une des ressources principales de ce port Breton.
The terre-neuvas were the fishermen who, from the 16th to the 20th century, set out each year from the European coasts to fish for cod on the large Banks of Newfoundland, off the Canadian coast. This fishery came to an end due to the scarcity of fish in the late 20th century as a consequence of overfishing.
This painting, made on the back of the Terre Neuvas Museum in Saint-Malo, on the occasion of the fifth urban art Biennial in Saint-Malo, evokes this fishing which was for a long time one of the main activities of this Breton port.
